Mirrabooka Vet - Dr Janie

Dr Janie, Vet

Janie is originally from South Australia, she moved to WA to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine, graduating from Murdoch University in 2009.

Janie is the Vet Manager at the Mirrabooka Vet Hospital.

She has a special interest in everything cat related, but also loves our doggy patients. She has a menagerie of pets at home including a toy poodle named Joey, a miniature schnauzer Alvin, a cat called Garfield and a variety of hand tamed and aviary birds. Janie loves spending time with her two daughters at the beach and taking her dogs for walks in her spare time.

Mirrabooka Vet - Dr Kim

Dr Kim, Vet

Since graduating from Murdoch university in 2015, Kim has worked mostly a General Practice but has also dabbled in anaesthesia and emergency care. She joined the Pets and Vets Group as a locum at the end of 2022 and is now full time at the Mirrabooka branch.

Kim has a special interest in surgery and anaesthesia and is always keen to learn and try something new. In consult, Kim has a soft spot for our fearful patients and attempts to make their visit as comfortable as possible. She has 2 dogs at home: Wodie and Freya.

Dr Meg, Vet

Megan has been working for the Vic Park, Lathlain and Mirrabooka Vet Clinics since December 2006. At work she has an interest in small animal internal medicine with a particular interest in feline medicine and endocrine conditions.

Mirrabooka Vet - Dr Rachel

Dr Rachel, Vet

Rachel graduated from Murdoch University in 2020. From a young age, she has had a passion for the health and wellbeing of animals and in January of 2021, began a full-time position at Lathlain Vet Clinic and recently started working at Mirrabooka Vet Hospital every Monday.

Currently, her interest lies in small animal medicine.

At home, she has 2 dogs, Pippa and Kiera and a cat named Gracie. Outside of her veterinary career, Rach enjoys spending time with her dogs at the beach and teaching calisthenics.

Mirrabooka Vet - Jemima

Jaime

Jaime qualified as a vet nurse in 2022. She grew up with a variety of animal species including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs & fish which is where her love for animals started. Prior to becoming a Veterinary Nurse, Jaime completed her Diploma of Beauty Therapy & has since continued a passion for Dermatology in animals.

In her spare time – she enjoys camping with her boyfriend & friends. Jaime owns a rescued DMH cat named Darcy & also a shares a Staffy X named Molly with her boyfriend.

Jemima

Jemima is a fun and bubbly bird nerd who is passionate about helping our native wildlife. She started her experience volunteering at various wildlife shelters before studying Veterinary Nursing at Bentley TAFE, graduating at the end of 2019.

In between her shifts at Mirrabooka, Jemima is volunteering at Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation centre, home caring baby birds and bobtail lizards and looking after her various pets. She has two cats named Fred and Tuffnut, a cheeky rainbow lorikeet named Daisy and a rescued greyhound called Molly.

Mirrabooka Vet - Brianna

Brianna

Brianna grew up on her family’s farm in the country where she loved to be around animals and always wanted to work with them. This led to her completing her Vet Nursing course in 2013. Brianna started working for Pets and Vets in 2016 and has worked at Victoria Park Veterinary Clinic, Lathlain Veterinary Clinic before joining Mirrabooka Veterinary Hospital. Brianna adopted Slinky, a cheeky male ginger tabby Domestic Short Hair from Mirrabooka Vet in 2018. An interest in dog behaviour led to her working part time for a dog trainer for 2 years whilst still working at Mirrabooka Vet.

When she’s not working, Brianna likes to head home to the farm, spend time in nature, travel, do personal training and catch up with family and friends.

Courtney

Courtney grew up in Melbourne for her first 18 years, before moving to the northwest of WA where she began working in our South Hedland clinic. After 6 years of living in Hedland, she transferred down to our Mirrabooka Vet clinic. Courtney enjoys the client interaction aspect of the job and meeting people from all different walks of life.

Courtney is Mum to a daughter, as well as a one-eyed Maltese cross named ‘Jet’. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys walks with her partner, daughter and dog to the park or enjoying delicious food.

Mirrabooka Vet - Stephanie

Stephanie

Stephanie is from Colombia and has been in Australia for 4 years. Her passion for animals led her to pursue a career in the veterinary field, where she worked tirelessly to ensure the health and happiness of our beloved pets, seeing them as an important part of our families.

She has a gorgeous cat called Don Vito back in Colombia and she currently gives all of her love to the clinic’s little terrors Patrick and Dwight who love to give her cuddles in exchange for some treats.

While preparing to take the Veterinary Examination she is working as a veterinary nurse, her goal is to be a valuable support to veterinarians, ensuring that animals receive the care they deserve and that their owners feel at ease knowing their loved ones are in good hands.

Nicole

Nicole completed her training in 2018 at AVT. Nicole has always had a passion for all animals, especially for cats, dogs and horses, which is what led to becoming a veterinary nurse. She also enjoys volunteering with her favourite foster program,

Saving Animals Matters. Nicole has three cats named Lilo, Diego and Duchess, all of whom have been rescued in different ways. When not volunteering or working Nicole enjoys spending time in the garden or playing the occasional video game.
