Meet the Team

Dr Katherine Cowton

Katherine graduated from Murdoch University in 2004 and went to work in Kalgoorlie for 4 years in small animal and equine practice. In 2007, she travelled around Australia and visited some amazing places! Since returning to Perth in 2009, she joined the Victoria Park & Lathlain Pets and Vets team. She joined our Mirrabooka team in 2016 and still works part time between the Victoria Park and Mirrabooka clinics.

Katherine has two children and an array of pets – including dogs, birds, rabbits, and fish.

Not that there is a lot of free time amongst all that, but her hobbies include cake making, camping, water skiing and doing renovations at home.

Dr Emma Kennare

Emma has been a part of the Pets & Vets group since 2013. At the end of 2019, Emma relocated to Perth after doing a 6-year stint working up north in all our Pilbara clinics. During her time in the Pilbara, Emma was involved in raising and releasing orphan joeys back into the wild. In clinic, Emma enjoys emergency and rehabilitation cases. On the rare days she is not at work, Emma can be found with her thoroughbred horse; Diesel and 3 pooches; Ruby, Nelly & KC.

Teagan

Teagan started her veterinary nursing career with the Mirrabooka Veterinary Hospital in early January 2010. She started her work experience with us while she was studying for her nursing certificate as well as working with us part time as a kennel attendant.

When she graduated late December of 2010 she became a permanent member of our team and has thoroughly enjoyed working here ever since. Her American Bulldog cross Great Dane, Hunter is a familiar face around the clinic! She also has a cheeky cat called Dwight, that she adopted from the clinic and hand reared from only two days old!

When she’s not in clinic Teagan enjoys live music, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Brianna Siegert

Brianna was raised on her family’s farm in the country and has grown up with animals and always wanted to work with them. This led to her completing her Vet Nursing course in 2013. Brianna has worked at a sheep stud, as a kennel hand and a vet nurse in both the country and Perth before joining the Pets and Vets Group. Brianna started working at Pets and Vets in 2016 at our Victoria Park Clinic, followed by our Lathlain Vet Clinic and she has been at our Mirrabooka Vet Hospital since 2016.

Brianna adopted Slinky, a cheeky male Ginger Domestic Short Hair cat from Mirrabooka Vet. Brianna has a special interest in dog behaviour training and enjoys volunteering for a dog trainer in her spare time. Brianna also enjoys heading home to her family’s farm, spending time in nature, exploring beautiful WA and catching up with family and friends.

Laura McPartlan

Laura grew up in the Pilbara with a strong love of animals and science, leading her to study marine science and wildlife & conservation biology, veterinary nursing and occupational health and safety. After graduating university, she returned to the Pilbara, becoming a veterinary nurse at Karratha Vet Hospital, combining her love of pets and wildlife. After five years and lots of snake bite nursing, she returned to Perth with her family in 2018, taking up a part-time role nursing at Mirrabooka.

Laura is mum to a labrador X named Loki; 2 ginger cats, Malcolm and Millie; a galah, Gary, a snake Gem; and a tribe of kids. When not at work, Laura loves spending time with her husband and kids, kayaking, fishing and exploring the Perth surrounds.

Courtney Piribauer

Courtney is one of the full-time nurses at the Mirrabooka Vet Hospital and has been a part of the Pets & Vets group since 2017. Prior to working at the Mirrabooka clinic, Courtney lived and worked up north at our South Hedland Vet Hospital for 4 years. Courtney is originally from Melbourne but now resides in Perth with her boyfriend and one-eyed dog Jet, who she adopted from the clinic. When she’s not working, Courtney enjoys researching naturopathy, attending AFL games with her partner, taking Jet for nature walks, and eating ‘Get Chunky’ cookies.

Kora Cooper

Kora grew up in WA’s southwest and has always had a strong passion for helping animals. She began working at Mirrabooka Vet Hospital in January of 2015 as a kennel attendant before transitioning into vet nursing and has loved working here ever since.
